I have come to realize, as I work with clients, that many people do not have an empowering morning routine.  I believe that this is one of if not the most important thing I do for myself every day.  So today I would like to share with you how I begin my day. It may be a great way for you to begin your new week.

I have an empowering morning ritual that I simply do not miss. It sets me up for success every day.  My morning ritual wakes me up, it energizes me (I don’t even drink coffee), and I get tuned in to the Divine first thing.  I delight in my morning ritual.  It’s MY time.  It’s what Julia Cameron author of “The Artists Way” refers to as “filling your well”.  My morning ritual fills me up.  Then I have plenty to give to others the rest of the day.

I get up at 5 am and the first 1 1/2 to 2 hours are strictly for me and my ritual.  The very first thing I do is my workout.  I set my clothes out the night before so I don’t have to look for them.  This is how I make it easy for me.  I get my water and I get busy moving my body. Understand that I rarely wake up feeling like I want to get up and run and do jumping jacks and squats and lunges…no.  If I really thought about it, I would stay in bed.  But even though I don’t feel like it, I do it anyway.  That’s how we train ourselves.  We do things that we don’t FEEL like doing.  But, I know that even though I may not feel like doing the work-out, I do know that I feel ten times better after I have done it. Those are results I’m looking for.

After my half hour of working out, I then meditate and read from my spiritual practice, which is A Course in Miracles. During this time, I also go over my goals for the day, the week and the month.  This helps me to keep them fresh in my mind throughout the day, so that I cannot become distracted.  This is also the time I may do some EFT.

Then while I’m doing my hair and putting on my makeup I listen to audios or watch Youtube videos that motivate and inspire me.

This is truly the most important part of my day.  I literally fill myself up, body (exercise), mind (videos and audios), and spirit (meditation, devotion, EFT) before I even speak to another human being.  I take care of me FIRST thing in the morning, then and only then can I give from my overflow.  I am more joyful, energized, patient and clear thinking for my family and my clients.

Perhaps you would like to implement a morning ritual. I believe completely that it is a must for a joyful, successful life. I suggest that you take baby steps.  Start slow…add in one or two new elements at first and then add to it.  Just see how much more empowered and productive you are.

Here’s to a great week,
Michelle
